10 Ways To Be A Fun Mom

We are creatures of habit, especially during the time of Covid. This can sometimes lead to boredom and make your normal routine get stale. You feel it and your kids feel it too.

It does not have to be that way though. You have the power to change things up and make you and your kids day a little different. To that end, here are some ideas that can help you keep things fresh and fun.

Flying a kite.

  • Read A Book
    When was the last time that you read a book to your kid? We all know that reading is important but we really tend to get away from the simple act of doing it.
  • Make A Treasure Map
    Instead of giving you child a new toy or candy, make it even more fun by calling it treasure. Make a map and have them seek it out.
  • Fly A Kite
    This was always one of my favorite things to do as a kid and yours will love it as well.
  • Raid The DVD Collection
    Make it a flashback Friday and pull out an old movie that your kids used to love. Never underestimate the power of nostalgia.
  • Go For A Bike Ride
    You know you need the exercise and you also know that a tired kid is a happy one.
  • Blow Some Bubbles
    It doesn’t get much simpler than this. Bubbles are cheap and oh so much fun. Visit the dollar store and pick some up or make your own bubbles.
  • Crank Up The Music
    Turn up the volume on the stereo and have a dance party with the kids. It’s okay if you can’t dance, the kids can’t tell the difference.
  • Make An Obstacle Course
    Turn your backyard into an obstacle course. Nothing fancy, just a little climbing, crawling and jumping. Use the timer on your phone to keep score and see if the kids can beat their time.
  • Camp In Your Living Room
    Pull out that tent and set it up in the living room. A few sleeping bags and some flashlights and you have quite the night.
  • Simply Cuddle
    Sometimes it is the little things that mean the most. Simply put on a movie or favorite TV show and cuddle with your kiddo on the couch.
