Like a lot of parents, the main gift my son is getting this year is a tablet. It was the main thing on his wish list and the fact that we will no longer have to give him our phones to play with making it the perfect gift. You see, my husband was seriously injured back in February and there are just not very many quiet ways to keep a 4/5 year old boy very quiet while we speak with a doctor. Almost a year later and we are still going to doctors appointments weekly and still have to take him with part of the time. We also do these long drives between California and Montana atlas 5 times a year and those can be pretty boring for him unless we bring my iPad with movies loaded onto it. There is also the fact that his kindergarten is a smart class and they do a lot of work on tablets and computers and he often has some homework on a website that needs to be completed. We as parents do not want this tablet to just be for fun, we want him to be learning while he uses it as well.
So when I was contacted by Educents about reviewing one of their products I was ecstatic. They are a company that sells education based products. They have amazing tangible products as well as downloadable products That honestly, I had a very hard time deciding between. I finally did decide on the FarFaria Unlimited children’s books. It is a library of books for your kids that they can read anywhere and it will also read to them. I was a bit hesitant because most “library of books” apps don’t have very good books. But instantly I knew this one was different. It quickly became my number 1 suggestions to have on your kids tablets.
It is a large library of books that you are able to have auto read to you, read to you as you flip through the pages, or read yourself. We have quickly learned that all we need to do is take the tablet and some earphones along with us to appointments and other outings and our son will quietly listen to books for a few hours.I downloaded the app onto my iPad so Moneyman could use it until he gets his iPad in a few days and it has quickly become one of his favorite apps. So far over paper books in his room which he has a lot of he as asked to listen to a store from this library every night before bed instead.
So some things that I should also point out is that the books in here are labeled with the reading level, Which is amazing. They are also beautifully illustrated and keep your children engaged with amazing stories.
So here are some of my little guys favorite stories so far:
The Biggest Yawn Ever
The adventures of Bully Bee Gone
David and Goliath
Adventures of Atlantis
After using this library for a while now I can honestly tell you it is worth the money. While normally priced at $39.99 it is on sale right now for $23.99 and has seriously become our “Netfilx for books” around here. Which is why I have to say that it is the number one app you should be buying for your kids if you are buying them a tablet this Christmas. There are over 1000 books for ages 2-9. This book library is a must have and a Goofball Mommy Favorite. I hope you give your kids the gift of amazing reading this Christmas.
To buy this app, please visit Educents, and while you are there take a look at their amazing deals and Free Downloadables.
