This week we have Tandra from Thriller Mom! I will let her introduce herself:
I’m the mom of two girls (1 & 6 years old). Parenting is the hardest thing I’ve ever committed to in. my. life. I share my battles, my hits & misses there. I consider Thriller Mom to be random because that’s just who I am. I write about whatever is nudging me at the moment. You may catch me laughing, crying, or throwing a tantrum at any moment.
Be sure To go check Tandra out at these sites:
Now lets get down to the questions:
1. Why did you start blogging?
Not too long after having my first child, I realized that everything wasn’t so “cute” anymore and I needed an outlet. Fast! I’ve always kept a journal so I did that until I learned about this whole blogging thing. Blogging has saved my life. And my family doesn’t realize how much it has saved theirs too! Lol!
2. What keeps You blogging?
Parenting challenges never cease and are forever changing with each situation. As my girls get older, I’m sure I’ll have PLENTY to blog about! Besides, I’ve said before that those silver anti-freedom bracelets and orange jumpsuits don’t look good on me.
3. What is your favorite post?
I honestly don’t have a favorite post. I post what I NEED to post each time. I can say that my “Dear Vag” post has been quite popular! I guess women have much more in common than they think. Here’s the link if anyone wants to check it out (http://thrillermom.blogspot.com/2014/10/put-that-middle-finger-down.html#more).
4. What blogs inspire you?
Before creating my Facebook page and branching out into the blogging world, I often visited www.heyamberrae.com, www.dailyword.com, www.tut.com (to name a few) for daily inspiration. Since I’ve started my blog, I’ve met SO MANY wonderful and inspiring bloggers! Too many to list here. But the ones I mentioned have been constants.
5. What is your Holy Grail?
In terms of my writing career, screenwriting is my Holy Grail. It is my dream to see my name and a movie that I have written, on the big screen! Of course, I have many goals but that will be the ultimate milestone.
6. If there is one thing that you could do what would it be?
I honestly cannot answer that question. I don’t know how to. Not because of a lack of ideas, but the contrary. I have too many important things I’d like to do and I’m not sure I can choose just one. But… I’ll give you this. I would LOVE to live for as long as my children are alive. I never want to be apart from them no matter how insane they cause me to be.
7. Where would your dream vacation be?
No specific geographical location comes to mind but I’ll give you my must-haves for this DREAM vacation: Beautiful scenery, the sound (and sight) of ocean waves, my family nearby, culture, great food, moments of quite, a room with brilliantly white flowing curtains, extra comfy bed, daily massages, spa treatments, lots of room service, dancing, alcohol, adventure, pictures galore (with a good camera), and NO alarm clock. I could go on and on. And this is why you don’t ask a mom who hasn’t been anywhere in umpteen years what her dream vacation would be! Lol! We can’t shut up about it!
8. What is your biggest accomplishment?
Besides having children (after assuming I was barren), I’ll say my greatest accomplishment has been learning how to get back up after a fall. Figuratively speaking. I’ve faced many challenges that could have taken me out of the game. But I’m a fighter! I laugh a lot. I still cry, too. But I’ve learned how to “suck it up Buttercup” and keep on truckin’. I use the support and love of people around me to get me through as well. You can’t survive in this life without a healthy dose of “fighter” or at least some “kiss my ass” and a circle of loved ones.
9. What is your biggest Failure?
My biggest failure… Hmmm… Now that I’m older, I really don’t see anything that I’ve done (or haven’t done) as a failure. I’ve had too many setbacks to count but had my road been traveled any differently, I wouldn’t be the Thriller Mom/woman I am today! Nor would I have the family that I have and that…I just can’t imagine.
10. If you could change anything in this world what would it be?
I would erase hate and prejudice and discrimination. Immediately. I feel that without those things existing in our world, we could work together freely to get so many things accomplished! We would take care of one another as a race of “humans.” No one would care about the skin color, sexual orientation, religious/political affiliation, educational level, marital status, financial standing, etc, of the person standing next to him/her. We would still have differences and disagreements but without hate-which I also see as fear – we could agree to disagree and live in peace.
